Collage Painting Class

Are you looking for a colorful new approach to painting? Join Anharad Llewelyn for a full day of art making as you create an exciting underpainting using acrylic paint, and adhere hand painted patterned papers over it as you match the values in the painting. This technique creates a beautiful mosaic collage painting which features vibrant color, personal significance, texture, and pattern. Students are invited to work from imagery that is taken from their personal photos. Landscapes, animals, fruits, and flowers make fantastic subject matter. Students will send the chosen image via email to llewelynart@gmail.com. On the day of the class, students are encouraged to bring special papers from their own collections to collage into the work. This may include handwritten letters, or patterned paper with personal significance. All other supplies will be provided by the instructor. Bring a bag lunch!

The $75 registration fee includes materials.

Anharad Llewelyn grew up in a family of artists and has always been involved in art, primarily painting and collage. She teaches creative arts at Burr and Burton Academy.
