Interactive Handbell Concert and Workshop
Join us in this interactive concert workshop with the Tall Spire Ringers led by Rosanna Moran. They will ring some of your favorite music and then invite audience members to try their hand at ringing the bells! It is NOT necessary to read music, (although it is helpful). We will start with the basics of how to ring and end by playing a piece together. A member of the handbell ensemble will work with each person who wants to try, so that you will have your own personal tutor right next to you while we play!
Rosanna Moran started in church music and public school music education while a student at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. Although her main focus was choral music, once she took her first course in handbells, she was hooked. She wrote grants to start a choirchime ensemble while a music teacher at Warnsdorfer Elementary School, and later wrote another grant to start a handbell ensemble at East Brunswick High School, where she was Director of Choral Music and AP Music Theory. She has worked as a church musician since 1983, and either directed or participated in a Handbell Ensemble in each church she worked at. She is currently the Principal at The Dorset School. The Tall Spire Ringers are her favorite ensemble by far, and they are always looking for substitutes and the possibility of expanding their ensemble.
