Join Ian Vair on a wild mushroom journey. Ian will guide us through the wooded trails at the Southern Vermont Arts Center and will explain safety parameters, field guide comprehension, ideal growing conditions, and identifying factors. Functional uses including culinary recipes, extraction methods, and medicinal qualities will be discussed. Wear comfortable shoes for hiking in the woods. Some of the forest exploration will go off trail with some rocky and rolling terrain. Bring a water bottle, insect spray and a bag or basket for collecting edible finds. We will meet in the parking lot promptly at 10 am. Space is limited; pre-registration is required.
Ian Vair is a wild mushroom forager and French trained chef from Vermont. Green Mountain Fungi (greenmountainfungi.com) is an extension of Ian’s knowledge, passion and experience in the fields of mycology and culinary arts!
