Gloria Palmer

Executive Director

Gloria is GMALL’s executive director, a watercolor artist, a certified pickleball instructor and active in the community. A Brooklyn native, she has lived in Vermont for more than 40 years.

Liz Berard

Assistant to the Executive Director

Liz’s career background includes work as a travel agent and market research assistant. She has worked for GMALL since 2014 and lives in Dorset. She is a member of a local bell choir and an area book group.

Board of Directors

President – Peter spends his time gardening and researching, writing, and corresponding about the economy, technology, and economic history.  He lives in Dorset.

Vice President – Mark resides in southern Vermont where he continues to research and write after retiring as professor of Latin American history.

Treasurer – Arnie is a practicing attorney and advocate for the arts. Since moving to Dorset, he has hiked the Long Trail, served on a number of community boards and became an avid gardener.

Secretary – Ann is a Vermont-based writer. She specializes in writing about the rold and impact of business (entrepreneurs and large corporations) in society.

Becky lives in Manchester with her husband. She is originally from the Hudson Valley where she worked in country club management and real estate.

Carlos lives in East Dorset. His principal career has been in investment banking and investment management, and pursues lifelong interests and part-time careers in writing and art.

A retired university professor, he specialized in Russia and International Relations. Recently China and political culture became important areas of interest. He and his wife Cathie Gallaher live in Dorset.

Monica is a resident of Washington, DC and she summers in Manchester where she lived full time for nearly 20 years. Monica is a gerontologist and social worker in her second career; previously she was a foreign service officer, specializing in international development.

John retired from his New Jersey law practice in 2000 and has tried to be useful to Vermont non profit organizations since then.

Cathy resides in Manchester with her husband and two dogs. Previously she lived in NYC and was an executive in the Fashion Industry both retail and wholesale.

Ned is a retired private school art teacher living in Arlington. He runs an art gallery in Dutchess County and spends as much time as possible painting watercolors at his easel along the dirt roads and rivers in southern Vermont.

Judie had her own TV location company in New York City for 18 years. She is now retired, living in Manchester and enjoying her nine grandchildren.

Anthony is a Dorset-based artist and previously was a corporate communications executive, primarily in cable TV, for over 25 years.

Michele served as Professor, Graduate Dean and Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs at Fitchburg State University where she enjoyed a thirty-three year career.
